KUALA LUMPUR: A book entitled "Naval Reservists in Action: World War II (Far East) and Confrontation" was launched at the Royale Chulan hotel in Jalan Conlay recently. The book gives a detailed account of the hostilities of the invading Japanese army during World War 2, the battles in the Pacific and Indian Oceans and Malaysia's Confrontation with Indonesia (1963-1966).

The book was launched by Royal Malaysian Navy deputy chief Vice-Admiral Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin and the country's first local navy chief, Rear-Admiral (Rtd) Tan Sri K. Thanabalasingam.

The book was edited by veteran naval reservist Adrian Villaneuva. The event was attended by reserve and regular officers from Malaysia and other Commonwealth countries. Also present was former Armed Forces chief Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Ghazali Mohd Seth.
