Five members of our RAFOC Committee, led by Lt Jen Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Yunus bin Mohd Tasi, TUDM, (Bersara), our Vice President (Air) called on Puan Faridah bt Borhan, the Timbalan Ketua Pengarah JHEV, at JHEV Headquarters on Tuesday, 19 November 2013 from 1430 to 1700 hours. Also in the delegation was Brig Jen Dato' Adnan bin Ali, (Bersara), a member of our Sub-Committee on Retirement Matters.

The aim of the call was to brief Puan Faridah, who took over the appointment in June 2013, on RAFOC and its activities and the various issues related to the retired Armed Forces officers.

Tan Sri Mohd Yunus thanked Puan Faridah for giving time for the delegation from the committee to call on her and thanked the staff of JHEV for doing a good job in looking after the administration and the well being of the retired Armed Forces officers and the Armed Forces veterans in general. He also thanked JHEV for facilitating RAFOC to maintain a close rapport with JHEV.

In response, Puan Faridah, who is a daughter of a Warrant Officer in the Engineer Regiment in the 1960s, thanked the delegation for their presence and look forward to the continued association between JHEV and RAFOC.

The committee raised a number of issues related to the administration and the well being of the retired Armed Forces officers by JHEV as well as other related matters, in particular the problems related to the problem in getting medicine and the role of Farmasi Veteran in HAT Tuanku Mizan, Kuala Lumpur.

It was not the aim of the delegation to resolve these issues with her per se but suffice to say that it was our aim to let her know these issues. The President and the committee are yet to call on the new Ketua Pengarah JHEV, who took over on 20 August 2013, but was away on his pilgrimage in Mecca and will be back in office on 25 November 2013.
